SOCIAL TABOOS AROUND THE WORLD

Social taboo is a practice, habit, object or any material or abstract thing that is not in conformity with accepted practice in that society, and hence discouraged by the members of that society, community, etc.

It would depend on various things such as country, language denomination or ethnic differences. For instance, in the Asian countries, even in 2008, smoking or taking alcohol in public places is considered taboo. Men shaking hands with women is considered a taboo by the Moslem countries. Marrying outside one's caste is still considered a taboo in India and in some of the south east asian countries.

Anything that is forbidden, unmentionable, unthinkable, prohibited, proscribed, outlawed, and inviolable by the majority of the people where you live, can be safely classified as social taboo.

Cannibalism

-Cannibalism is a west indian tribe. It is the practice of eating human flesh without any compassion. Someone is on call if the practice of cannibalism cannibal. In the past cannibalism is so widespread throughout the world and continue into this century in some isolated areas such as africa, south and north pacific europe.In half of society, cannibalism is a way of life. Some of the popular cases associated with cannibalism in the world is The Moari People , Stella Maris College Rugby Team Uruguay , Jefrey Dahmer , Alferd Packer , Albert Fish , Revolutionary United Front , Issei Sagawa , Mauerova Family and Armin Miewes.


Self-Flagellation


-Self-Flagellation is a religious ritual by beating themselves with whips. In Islamic religious, Followers of the Shi’a sect of Islam carry out the ritual of mass self-flagellation every year during the Holy month of Muharram, in order to commemorate the martyrdom of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad. In what can only be described as a gruesome display, the men whip their bodies with blades attached to chains. In their state of religious trance, they apparently do not feel the pain. Whereas in Christianity, it is The practice of mortification of the flesh for religious purposes was utilized by some Christians throughout most of Christian history, especially in Catholic monasteries and convents.But in this century the church no longer do this practice because it is an act of condemnation for sin can be forgiven by God through prayer.


FIREWALKING



-Firewalking is the act of walking barefoot over a bed of hot embers or stones. It has been practiced by many people and cultures in all parts of the world.It is often used as a rite of passage, as a test of an individual's strength and courage, or in religion as a test of one's faith. 

IMPALING 


-Impaling is called  the Vegetarian Festival at Thailand. It is celebrated throughout the entire country, but the festivities are at their height in Phuket.In accordance with the traditions, many religious devotees will perform ritualized mutilation upon themselves.The purpose of this practice is a mixture of veneration for their gods and ancestors, to display their devotion to their believes and the trance itself, which although anecdotal in nature to what is experienced, has a profound impact upon demeanor for days or weeks after, frequently with devotees appearing exceptionally calm and focused in their day to day activities after the festival is completed.

KHAI Biography

  

        Assalamualaikum to everyone especially  Miss Intan Norjahanan as  supervisor  Fundamental English here I want to share about my biodata.The first of all my name is Khairul Bin Abdul Jamal.I was born at hospital duchess of kent on 22 Julai 1992,its mean my age is 22 years old.I am from Sandakan Sabah and my parients originated from sabah.I have five sibling and I am a third of my five sbling.The first born-child is my sister already finish study at unitar and now working  at the agency MAMPU putrajaya,second born-child is my brother student  third it is me,fourth my sister as student also and the last is my younger brother already waiting result SPM.

        Story about my parients,I have mother worked as a farmer and managed inheritance and than my father  pass away in 2001 years at the time I am still form 3 at primary school St Mary Bandar.By the way,I am patient cause that all as plan god to manage slaves.

       Others  than about my self ,I am already finish diploma in petrochemical and than now continues degree in engineering chemical process at unikl micet. I am also  like eat food chicken rice penyet cause it has flavor that makes our taste interesting  and my drink is lemon ice it’s a delicious.Futhermore,I am always do thing such as play  football,sleep,reading games and others.
   

       When talk about future,I am wanted to be a good engineer. So means I am must get the best pointer  every semester in unikl.conclusion,I am should be effort  and pray to Allah swt for achieve the desire.

BOB Biography

MOHAMAD LUKMAN HAKIM

                             My name is Mohamad Lukman Hakim Bin Md Zaki. I was born on the 17th of June in 1992 at Klinik Aung, Alor Star Kedah, which means I am 22 years old now. 


I have a small family. I have 2 siblings. I am the olders among my sibling. Her name is Siti Nur Amaliena. She is 21 years old now. My father name is Md Zaki Bin Awang and he is 48 years old. Her occupation is businessman. He looks fierse but he is kind-hearted person. My mother name is Siti Zubaidah Binti Jusoh. She is 37 years old. She is amazing house wife.


Attend primary school at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pasir Pekan Kelantan from 2000 to 2004. I passed with flying colours in UPSR examination, so i continued my study at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Falahiah Pasir Pekan Kelantan for another 5 years. I very active in cocuriculum during my secondary school. My best achievement was represent my district in hockey and I was a prefect at my school. I got a good result in SPM. After that, I further my studies at Matriculation Program in Pulau Pinang for 1 year. At matriculation program, my major is physical science. My final CGPA at matriculation Program is 2.91. I also active during my matriculation. I am playing goalkeeper during represent my matriculation in KAKOM.


For your information, I had further my study for Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering at Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM). There I have studied a lot about military lifestyle. Unfortunately, something happen to me that cause me cannot further my study. Then I worked for 3 month as a technician at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Skudai. I never gave up in my study and that’s why I am here at Universiti Kuala Lumpur MICET. I decide to futher my study in Bachelor Of Chemcial Engineering Technology (HONS) in Process. I promise to never let down my dream to become a successful Chemical Engineer.



 
Moreover, I already has set my own goal. One of it is to complete my study at here and score with flying colours. This is because I have a dream to pursue my study in Master at United Kingdom and help my family to get a better life. Hopefuly, GOD will bless me for what my goal to achieve. That's all about me.
