Our life is wonderful
yet it is very mystery. We never know what will happen and we simply can not
imagine what we will go through on the next day. Actually that is very natural for
a human being and as a human we are very limited. Above all of that, human is
still a very unique creature. Our moods are changeable, sometimes it was happy
or joy and sometimes it was bad or hard. There are many things that can affect
our mood; one of them is when we feel stress. Stress is a normal physical
response to events that make you feel threatened or upset your balance in some
way. The stress response is the body’s way of protecting you. When working
properly, it helps you stay focused, energetic, and alert. In emergency
situations, stress can save your life - giving you extra strength to defend
yourself, for example, or spurring you to slam on the brakes to avoid an accident.
The stress response also helps you rise to meet challenges. Stress is what
keeps you on your toes during a presentation at work, sharpens your concentration
when you’re attempting the game-winning free throw, or drives you to study for
an exam when you'd rather be watching TV.
Firstly, physical
effects of stress are what we can realize easily. Stress causes our immune
system to become weakening. A simple cold can become the flu or a lung
infection with a stress person. In addition, stress can cause sleep problems
and tiredness, which can go on to produce mood swings and hot temper. Stress
also has a big effect on how our internal organs work. For example, the heart
beats faster and the blood pressure increases during a stressful period.
Secondly, psychological or emotional effects of stress also result on us in a
bad way. We lose interest in our day-to-day activities because of stress. We
are not able to focus on one thing. Other psychological effect of stress is
losing power of discrimination. Our mind stops working correctly and we are not
able to decide what is good and what is bad. Depression is also one of the main
psychological effects of stress. To summarize, stress has negative effects on
our health.
The second effect of stress is the declining of work productivity and study result.Working people who are under stress is hard to focus on their work, they seem to be easy to lose their temper and become irritable. Also, dynamic staffs may become apathetic in their work because the staffs get tired and depressed to work; the work productivity reduces remarkable. In addition, stress cause students falling in academic performance. The stress sufferers are not able to pay attention to the lesson at school as well as at home. So, getting high mark is very difficult to them.
Stress is really a
disease that affects all of us living in a modern world. We can assume that
everyone had suffered stress. It does have powerful negative effects on
our self as well towards people around us. In order to live better in the
future, it is essential to look this problem very serious and try to solve it.
Always calm and pray to God are good treatment yet simple way for us to live in
better life. The major concern is some people think that stress is a natural
problem that everyone had suffered but have they ever wonder what will happen
if nobody ever tries to overcome this problem. Do we want to live in a
stressful life or being surrounding by a ‘mindless mass of zombies’ society?
